Kakamega Homeboyz secured three points against Chemelil fc in a Kenya Premier League (KPL) match played at Bukhungu stadium.

Homeboyz striker Allan Wanga scored his third goal for the club in the 44th minute to give Kakamega an early lead before breaking for half time.

Chemelil came into second half more aggressive but squandered many chances.

Hassan Kikoyo scored the second goal for the home team in the 79th minute after getting a pass from Ali Bhai.

Charles Odera who is the Chemelil head coach praised his boys for playing good football saying lack of concentration from his players made them lose to Kakamega Homeboyz.

Mr Odera also dismissed claims that the financial crisis being faced by the club was the cause for their loss.

“We played well but we didn’t utilize our chances as Homeboyz did. My players lacked concentration in the game. We are going to work on that” said Odera.

Mike Muiruri, Kakamega Homeboyz head coach thanked his team for winning the game saying they played well despite the fact that they were fatigued after their previous fixtures

Homeboys are scheduled to play Mathare united on May 19 at Bukhungu stadium as from 3pm
